Unfortunately, anchors and reporters make mistakes. It’s the last thing we want to do, but it happens. And this morning, I was jolted out of bed because of one that I made.
When I wake up, I go through email, and I got one from Sharia Sewell. She wrote the story I posted online about Sen. Roger Wicker’s upcoming vote in the impeachment trial was incorrect. I said the vote would be on impeachment. However, it’s not. It’s on whether to convict or acquit the president. The House already voted to impeach him.
I thanked her before rushing to correct the story and making the changes online and alerting the newsroom. Not the way you want to start the day. However, I am always grateful when viewers or a readers point out something I may have missed. It means they’re reading/watching and they’re keeping us honest.
