What’s worth watching

The last thing I do is make recommendations, but I will do that with a couple of things out this weekend:
F1 The Movie was a blast and did not feel like a flick that runs more than two-and-a-half hours. If you can, watch it in IMAX.
My Mom Jayne, A Film by Mariska Hargitay includes a secret that comes to light and an ending that made me cry (in a good way, I might add.) The documentary is out now on HBO Max.
A TV weather legend
TVA says cut back due to the heat
From Monroe County Electric Power Association:
TVA has implemented Step 20 of their Emergency Load Curtailment Plan. The hot temperatures across the Tennessee Valley have begun to put a strain on TVA’s system. Monroe County Electric Power Association is currently asking that members voluntarily curtail power use where possible. We understand that it is too hot to go without air conditioning. We are just requesting that you raise your thermostat as well as lower your usage in other areas.
Please try to avoid doing things that require high energy consumption (i.e. laundry, cooking, or taking baths that require water heating).
Every little bit helps. Thank you for all that you are able to conserve.
A split response
Former Governor Phil Bryant responds on X to Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (both supporters of the president) about the U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear sites.

It’s not a tornado

A reminder from the National Weather Service in Birmingham on how to determine if what looks like a tornado actually is a tornado.
Maybe I missed it

It’s been reported locally that Target is coming to Tupelo. This is the first time I’ve seen it on the Target website even though I haven’t checked the site in some time.
